The biggest struggle for a first-time author is getting the word out. People are far less likely to purchase a book from an unknown author than one that is already established. Especially so if that unknown author has very few reviews. If you’ve read and enjoyed it, please take a moment to review it. It will help me immeasurably. If you’re unsure how to review it, there are simple instructions below.
I’m currently offering complimentary copies (print or Kindle) to select reviewers. If you are interested in being considered, please use the Contact Form to submit a request. Put “Book Review” in the subject line and let me know where I can see your reviews (your amazon reviewer ID, Goodreads ID, blog name, etc.). I will not pay for a review, please don’t ask.
Leaving a review on Amazon.com is simple. Just navigate to the listing page for the book, which can be found through this link. Once there, scroll down to the customer reviews section and click on the button that says “Write a customer review”:
A form will come up with a number of selectable options. Just click the boxes to rate it how you see fit:
If you aren’t sure what to write in the text fields, click through the image above to see the full size image and it will give you a couple of ideas.
Once you’ve finished clicking the boxes and filling out the text fields, just hit submit. That’s all there is to it. In addition to the satisfaction of a job well done, you will also see your review posted right there for all the world to see! That will also make its way into the Amazon reviews section of my sidebar. I’m not saying that your review is going to be spotted by some media mogul who will then recruit you to write reviews professionally and offer you a six-figure income, but I’m also not saying that its not going to happen.
